On the 22nd, a set of China's original large-scale surgical equipment, the "Haifu Knife" focused ultrasound tumor treatment system, was shipped from Chongqing to Thailand. This world-leading minimally invasive surgical equipment will benefit female patients in the country.
The focused ultrasound ablation surgery conducted by the "Haifu Knife" is a non-invasive treatment method that focuses low-intensity ultrasound waves on the target tissues in the body, instantly generating temperatures between 65°C and 100°C, causing irreversible coagulative necrosis in the target tissues. The entire treatment process is non-surgical, bloodless, and radiation-free, only targeting the lesion tissues for precise ablation while preserving the integrity of normal tissue and organ structures and functions. The "Haifu Knife" focused ultrasound tumor treatment system, independently developed by Professor Wang Zhibiao and his team at the National Key Laboratory of Ultrasound Medical Engineering and the National Engineering Research Center of Ultrasound Medicine, has won numerous awards, including the Second Prize of the Chinese National Technical Invention Award.
It is understood that the Rama IX Hospital in Thailand, where this equipment is introduced, is a comprehensive hospital. The introduction of this equipment allows Thai female patients to receive treatment for benign and malignant tumors using focused ultrasound ablation technology. "We appreciate the strong support of the Thai Obstetrics and Gynecology Association and Haifu Medical. We believe that with the collaborative efforts of multiple teams, Rama IX Hospital will achieve even better results using the 'Haifu Knife' equipment," said Ronnachit Yaemsaard, CEO of Rama IX Hospital.
"Through the non-invasive surgery using the 'Haifu Knife' equipment, we can protect the uterus and fertility, better safeguarding the health of Thai women," said Wang Zhibiao. Minimally invasive treatments are the direction of future medical development, and minimizing trauma has always been the goal and belief of every doctor.
It is worth mentioning that since the first device was exported to the University of Oxford in the UK in 2002, the "Haifu Knife" equipment has been exported to 30 countries and regions, treating over 230,000 cases of benign and malignant tumors.
